Sunday's Chennault International Air Show has been cancelled due to severe weather threatening the entire Louisiana area. Saturday's show was able to go on, although schedule modifications had to be made so that everyone had the chance to fly. The United States Air Force Thunderbirds were the headliners for this weekend's show, and had to be moved up in the schedule in order to get airborne Saturday. Thunderbird 1, Lt. Col. Christopher Hammond, took to the skies ahead of the rest of the team and performed a weather site survey. He made the call for Thunderbirds 2-6 to get airborne, and the team performed a few maneuvers before having to call "knock it off" because of deteriorating weather conditions. With the cancellation of Sunday's show, the team has just two stops remaining on their 2015 show schedule. October 31-November 1, the Thunderbirds head to JBSA Randolph, Texas before ending their 2015 season November 7-8 at Moody AFB in Georgia. We'll have LIVE coverage of the Thunderbirds' final show November 7-8, so make sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and right here at www.newsairshow.com.
