GEICO Skytyper Crashes on Long Island

A GEICO Skytyper Pilot has died after his SNJ crashed shortly after takeoff from Republic Airport in East Farmingdale, New York. The crash took place in Melville, New York, just north of the airport where the famous Skytypers were based for this past weekend’s Memorial Day Air Show over Jones Beach. The team also calls Republic Airport their summer home in between air shows.
